Dr. Linda Steele

Although she initially wanted to be a veterinarian, Dr. Linda Steele found her true calling in life while on a break from Texas A&M. She was working for an oral surgeon, and quickly fell in love with the dental field, ultimately deciding to switch majors to pediatric dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry (now known as Texas A&M Health Science Center at Dallas School of Dentistry), and underwent a pediatric residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

Dr. Steele is a proud, active member of the American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, the Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

When she’s not protecting the smiles of her fabulous pediatric patients, she enjoys traveling to Germany and Florida, attending 70’s rock concerts, and spending time with her husband, talented oral surgeon Dr. Darrell Steele.

Dr. Raquel Hazbun

Dr. Raquel Hazbun first became interested in dentistry during high school and took many dental mission trips in college. Throughout these journeys, she realized that teaching patients to care for their smiles early on was the best way set them up for a lifetime of excellent oral health. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Texas A&M College of Dentistry and completed her residency in pediatric dentistry at Texas A&M College of Dentistry where she served both healthy and special health care needs patients at the dental school, Children's Health, and Scottish Rite for Children. Dr. Hazbun is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Texas Dental Association. In her free time she enjoys staying healthy by practicing yoga, running, cooking, and traveling the world.

We absolutely love Dr. Linda Steele and the entire staff! Our 5 year old daughter is always so beyond excited to get her teeth cleaned (could go monthly if we let her, lol) and I think in part it’s because they make her feel so welcomed, safe and cared for. We are so happy we found this gem of a dental practice. Her husband has also done a couple oral surgeries on our son and is also the best if additional dental care is required for your kiddo.

Why Are You Looking for a Pediatric Dentist Near Carrollton?

Whether your child requires routine preventive services or a more complex procedure, Dr. Steele and the rest of our team near Carrollton look forward to welcoming you to our practice. Continue reading below to learn more about the specific services we offer, and please feel free to contact us for additional information.

My Child Needs a Checkup & Cleaning

You might not think you need to be concerned with your child’s dental health until they have a full set of teeth, but unfortunately, they might already have dental problems by them. The American Dental Association recommends scheduling their a dental visit when their first tooth arrives, and then every six months after that, to guide their still-developing smile.

Regular exams and cleanings allows Dr. Steele to monitor your child’s smile so she can catch and treat areas of concern, such as cavities or gum disease, before they progress.

My Child has Special Needs

Many children have other behavioral, medical, physical, mental, or sensory challenges, which can make dental appointments particularly challenging. At our office near Carrollton, Dr. Steele has completed additional training so that she can better accommodate your child’s unique needs.

My Child is Afraid of the Dentist

It’s natural for children to feel nervous about dental visits, but if they’re overly afraid, they might struggle with everything from exams and cleanings to more complex services. Fortunately, Dr. Steele understands that kids often get anxious, and offers multiple sedatives to help them feel calm and relaxed, based on their unique circumstances and needs.

Whether she recommends nitrous oxide (laughing gas), IV sedation, or general anesthesia, rest assured that our team near Carrollton will monitor your child the entire time to help keep them safe and secure.

My Child has a Dental Emergency

Proper prevention can help avoid oral issues, but unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that your child will never have a dental emergency. Thankfully, our office near Carrollton reserves time for same-day visits in case something comes up that requires our immediate attention.

Contact us for an appointment, and once your child arrives, we can quickly assess their condition, provide pain management, and devise a customized treatment plan to address the underlying issue.

My Child Needs a Crown or Filling

Although enamel is the hardest substance produced by the human body, it’s not completely invincible. Your child’s teeth can sustain damage or develop decay that must be treated to prevent additional injuries or infection.

Dr. Steele can provide a tooth-colored filling made from composite resin or a dental crown, usually made from resilient ceramic, to restore their mouth’s appearance and functionality and help prevent future harm.

My Child Needs Tongue Tie Treatment

Some kids are born with an overly short, thick, or tight band of tissue (frenulum) under their tongue or behind their lips. If left untreated, their lip or tongue tie can contribute to significant concerns, such as an inability to latch during nursing, speech-impediments, poor oral hygiene, mouth-breathing, jaw pain, and altered dental development.

Dr. Steele can provide a frenectomy, which involves freeing the tissues with special dental instruments, which allows their mouth to enjoy a more complete range of motion.
